Lleg\u00f3 el fin de la tauromaquia en todo Colombia. Despu\u00e9s de meses de trabajo intenso de la coalici\u00f3n Colombia Sin Toreo en las dos c\u00e1maras del Congreso, por mayor\u00eda de votos se aprob\u00f3 el proyecto de ley que pone fin a las corridas de toros, corralejas y a todo entretenimiento cruel con animales.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tras celebrarse el cuarto deb\u00e1te despues de varias semanas de haberse aplazado, al fin se vot\u00f3 con 93 votos a favor y 2 en contra el proyecto de ley que prohibe las pr\u00e1cticas de entretenimiento cruel con animales, esto es corridas de toros, novilladas, rejones y becerradas.<\/p>\n

A partir de ahora, como parte del proceso legislativo, el texto deber\u00e1 ser conciliado en el Senado a efecto de que no contenga alguna ilegalidad, hecho el cual ya fue revisado en los cuatro debates anteriores, sin embargo esto es un tr\u00e1mite que suele avanzar con facilidad para ajustar detalles del texto y que de ah\u00ed pase al Presidente Petro para que lo sancione y se promulgue.<\/p>\n

El proyecto de ley da un periodo de tres a\u00f1os de transici\u00f3n para poder realizar la reconverci\u00f3n econ\u00f3mica y laboral de las personas o familias que demuestren que deriva su sustento de estas actividades. A esto, el Congreso orden\u00f3 a los Ministerios de Cultura y Ambiente que reglamenten en dos meses posteriores a la entrada en vigencia de la ley, las condiciones en las que se desarrollar\u00edan los espect\u00e1culos taurinos en los tres a\u00f1os de transici\u00f3n en los que se seguir\u00e1n permitiendo bajo \u00ablos m\u00e1s altos est\u00e1ndares de bienestar y protecci\u00f3n animal\u00bb, como lo establece el texto del proyecto. Por \u00faltimo, el proyecto establece que se tendr\u00e1n que transformar las plazas de toros a fin de que sean utilizadas para actividades culturales, art\u00edsticas o deportivas sin crueldad ni maltrato animal.<\/p>\n

Ahora en Am\u00e9rica Latina, solo quedan ya permitidas las corridas de toros en Ecuador, M\u00e9xico, Per\u00fa y Venezuela, siendo M\u00e9xico el pa\u00eds con m\u00e1s actividad taurina de latinoam\u00e9rica, por lo que las prohibiciones de las corridas en M\u00e9xico, junto con la abolici\u00f3n total en Colombia marcar\u00edan la ca\u00edda total de la tauromaquia en \u00c1merica Latina.<\/p>\n
